Not too long ago, I was struggling to find clients for my offline consulting business. The fact of the matter is, selling SEO, websites, social media packages and other online marketing services to local businesses is becoming harder and harder as the competition grows.
So…understand that it’s not you or your services that are being rejected, but instead, its the sheer amount of competition that is keeping your income from being where it should be.
You really can’t blame the local businesses for their lack of interest in what you have to offer. While they desperately need your services…they are becoming numb to the onslaught of solicitations for those exact same services that you’re offering.
As a past owner of two “brick & mortar” businesses, I can tell you, first hand, that there are days that I went to my office and could not get a single thing done due to the volume of people coming to my office and calling me on the phone trying to sell me their crap! I don’t think a single day went by without someone trying to sell me something…thermal paper, water service, carpet cleaning, window washing, insurance, payroll solutions, bookkeeping services, merchant accounts…and yes SEO and website design among others.
